Election Results: Ishihara Wins, The Great Sasuke Loses

NHK TV news is reporting that Shintaro Ishihara has been re-elected to another term as governor of Tokyo. Those of you who dislike ol’ “blinky” will have to put up with him for a few more years…

| Shiro Asano | 1,693,323 | 30.8% |
| Manzo Yoshida | 629,549 | 11.4% |
| Kisho Kurokawa | 159,126 | 2.9% |
| Doctor Nakamatsu | 85,946 | 1.6% |
| Koichi Toyama | 15,059 | 0.3% |
Also reported by NHK: In a great loss to the people of Iwate Prefecture, pro-wrestler and assemblyman The Great Sasuke will not be the next governor of that prefecture.

Did Sasuke have to give up his seat in the Assembly to run for governor, or will he still be serving the people in that capacity?
What about the Jesus guy? And the Fascist Party guy? Those were my favorites…

The Fascist Party guy (Toyama) got almost 10,000 votes, and Dr. Nakamatsu got more than 69,000.
Maybe the Great Sasuke should have asked Jesse Ventura for some pointers before running.
