Bullet train twins to become JR train drivers (Video)
Two twins who gained fame when it turned out they had the same names as JR’s famous shinkansen trains are achieving their dream:
Twin sisters with the names Nozomi and Hikari, the same names as bullet trains operated by Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai), have started jobs at the railway company.
The 20-year-old twins, who graduated from a technical college in the Tokyo metropolitan area, entered JR Tokai under a professional work program in which they will aim to become train drivers.
The Nozomi superexpress made its debut in March 1992, and it was only by chance that the sisters’ names matched those of the bullet trains, but they both participated in the tape-cutting ceremony when the Nozomi was launched.
It’s like a dream made in PR heaven!

Nice story! Lucky they weren’t called Seven and Eleven.
1. They need a younger brother named Kodama.
2. LOL@Roaf
Meh, Nozomi and Hikari aren’t exactly uncommon names…
