Night Parking in Osaka (Video)

A shocking news report on parking manners in Osaka:

According to the report it is not uncommon for Osaka drivers to simply park their cars in the middle of the street if a space is unavailable. When a reporter asks people on the street about the parking problem, they say something along the lines of “This is Osaka, it’s OK here.”

Is there a possibility that that person interviewed was coincidentally Korean? Or are Kansaijin beginning to take on Korean words to put into words their values? Whatever the case, Kansaijin have different mentality from the rest of Japan.

There is a very large zainichi Korean population in Osaka, so it’s possible that his “ケンチャナヨ” was either due to being Korean or a Korean influence on the local lingo. I’m not really sure, as I’ve spent very little time in Kansai.

You’d never get away with that in South Boston; park it in the middle of the street, and it is gone when you come back out.

this is jus like what happens in KL bukit bintang. parking on the corners of pavements or in Sarawak, mum’s or dad’s were parking around the roundabout . why? picking their children up from school as it was next to the roundabout

as the video shows, osaka is heavily conjested.
