Banana Guard? (Video)

March 19th, 2007 by James

In this clip from today’s Mezamashi TV, a somewhat annoying reporter just so happens to discover a man walking on the street with a Banana Guard in his bag. After a faked scene in which she looks quite serious listening to a company spokesperson explain in English that most bananas will fit inside the Banana Guard, she obtains 100 bananas to see just how many of them will fit inside the case:

Bloody hell!! you’re not serious are you? i thought Belgium was taking the piss a few years ago for banning strawberry’s that didnt have the correct shape, I.E 3 sides or the corrrect shape, with the leaves in the middle. i must admit, even the sun newspaper printed the banana crap on page 3 [its the best page for useless crap to go next to a page 3 topless bird], but i didnt believe it, even though we are part of the EU.

still, a banana is a banana. peel the 3 or 4 skins and eat it. depends if its still green, otherwise it will still taste the same. mid you, i dont think this effect will work with the banana’s you can get in philippines etc. they are shorter, straighter, and have 3 sides. even when ripe, [thats green for asia] tastes too hard. would give you more trouble in the blocked dept than banana’s normally would

Some of the 100 bananas they tested were from the Philippines, but I guess they weren’t that shorter variety of banana.
