Morning Musume’s Newest Member: Li Chun (Video)

As Jinryuichi has reported, two new girls will be joining J-Pop group Morning Musume’s 8th generation, Li Chun (Jyun Jyun) and Qian Lin (Rin Rin). As you’ve probably already guessed from their names, they are not Japanese, but Chinese! They will be joining the group as “exchange student” members, whatever that means. Anyway, here’s a video of Li Chun performing in Chinese, which will probably shoot to the top of the YouTube most-viewed lists as soon as the legions of Morning Musume fans discover it:

Will this exchange bring about a new era of Japanese-Chinese friendship?

Nice pitch, needs a little more air aupport, great look. Tsunku has struck gold again. Better than Kusumi already. Wow. I guess he was just waiting for the right timing. There will likely be some backlash among his Japanese core fan base, but the results will more than make up for it.

This confirms my hunch that Chinese pop music exists primarily to make Japanese pop music seem not so bad by comparison.
