Former Taiwanese Presidential Advisor speaks in support of Yasukuni Shrine visits (Video)
In this video from YouTuber Oniazuma, Former Taiwanese Presidential Adviser Kin Bi Rei (Kin Mei-Ling) speaks out in support of the Yasukuni Shrine, calling Japanese who oppose shrine visits “ungrateful” for the sacrifices of the war dead enshrined there:
She also recalls her childhood, when Taiwan was still under Japanese control, stating that Japanese soldiers were always friendly and always helped transport children on the military trucks, since the public transportation system in those days was lacking. To her, the Japanese military at the time was a force that protected Japan and Taiwan. To her, any Japanese person who disapproves of the Yasukuni shrine doesn’t have a right to call themselves Japanese. Her views definately clash with those of other outspoken commentators on Japan’s colonialism. [She also has skills in shouting down foreign protestors, as you'll see near the end of her speech.]
