A “Foreign” Criminal

March 9th, 2007 by James

FG has translated a news article from ZAKZAK:

A 55 year-old part time worker burst into a post office in Okayama and tried to make off with 500,000 yen. The man carried a knife and bottle of liquid that he was threatening to ignite with a lighter. Intriguingly, the man, who was wearing a gauze mask and a hat, shouted 「マネー、マネー」or “Money, money” in an attempt to pass himself off as a foreigner. The cashier handed over the cash but police were quickly alerted, and the man was caught red handed.

Maybe he’d been reading the “Gaijin Hanzai Ura File” a bit too much?

Would it not be suspicious when he says Money with Japanese accent /マネー/

This guy sounds really dumb.
