BBC Survey: The world sees Japan as a positive influence
A recent BBC poll has revealed that Japan is one of the world’s leading nations when it comes to being viewed as a positive influence:
Many in the press are stating that the poll demonstrates the negative image many people have of militarism. Israel, Iran, and the United States, all of whom are often associated with militarism were seen as the most negative, while Canada and Japan, two countries with very low-key militaries were viewed as most positive. Japan’s generous contributions to developmental aid and the UN might have also had an influence on the results. Perhaps the popularity of anime, manga, and Japanese electronics was a factor as well?
