Japanese TV show makes foreigners drink Calpis (Video)
The secret is out guys, this Japanese TV show knows why the name “Calpis” sounds disgusting to English speakers:
For the first 1:40 of the clip the host quizes the celebrity panel on why Americans don’t like the name “Calpis.” Then they take a camera onto the streets and get some foreigners’ reactions to the drink’s name. Staged? Probably, but at least I learned that Calpis is actually sold in the USA under the name “Calpico,” which sounds less like “Cow Piss.”
