Previously, I vouched for the usefulness of the DS “game” Rakubiki Jiten Kanji sono mama. Lately, I have been wondering about other educational DS titles. Brain training is available in English, but I hear there are problems with it. Besides that, I doubt it has kanji games. The kanji games were suprisingly fun when I had a chance to play this title. But anyways, the Japanese blogsphere’s nicest guy, Kaishin, has rounded up some of the best educational titles. See what he has to think.
Now if you live in America, I probably recommend amazon.jp, but I can’t imagine the shipping costs. I also found this list of educational games in an American distributor, but take caution: Some of the games on the list are real stinkers. Kanji no Wataridori, for instance, looks fun, but apparently sucks for actually learning anything. Most amazon.jp reviewers are giving it one star.
