Nova English School’s mascot teams up with Pocky

February 11th, 2007 by James

After being stung in the press by an embarassing scandal involving several of its teachers being busted for drug-related crimes, English conversation mega-corporation Nova is fighting back on candy packages. In what appears to be a major advertisement campaign, the Nova Usagi is now appearing on the packages of Glico snack products. Will it be able to improve its public image by winning over the hearts and minds of snack-loving kids?

I wonder how Nova and Glico ended up in bed together, and why Glico didn’t drop them after the cocaine news (these packages have been out for a few weeks at least in Tokyo).

And yeah, that rabbit has a beak…

They seem to still have it featured on their main page (on the bottom):
http://pocky.jp/index.html. That’s a pretty busy page I must say. Perhaps glico is being distracted by all the expired food business hitting the news?
