The 2007 Phone Wars are on!
In hot, steamy cell phone news, Softbank recently announced their new line-up for 2007, right behind rivals KDDI and DoCoMo. Apparently they’re going for a wide variety of fruity colors, much like apple’s old iMac campaign:
“We focused on offering a wide selection of color handsets,” Son said, noting his firm wants to move away from the Vodafone image of offering large handsets in monotone colors. “I would like to change the industry by introducing a wide selection of vividly colored mobile phones.”
Which is ironic considering their stale and uninspired black and white logo, another bite off the old apple that doesn’t work as well as they probably hoped. Then again, anything is probably better than what DoCoMo decided to do, making a handset “that gives off a calming scent during phone calls.” Great. Just give me my iPhone.
