Whoops, I accidentally put a fetus in the trash can!
Police are questioning officials from a maternity hospital over the discovery of a human fetus at a garbage collection point in Kobe’s Nada-ku, law enforcers said.
A garbage collector working at a collection point at an apartment block in Kobe’s Nada-ku alerted police after discovering the 10-centimeter fetus in a plastic bag at about 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
Police said a doctor from a local maternity clinic said he had accidentally thrown out a fetus that arrived as the result of a miscarriage instead of sending the fetus to be cremated. They are questioning hospital officials on suspicion of abandoning a body and violating the Waste Disposal Law.
