The evolution of musical covers that led to DJ Ozma’s Age Age Every Night (Video)
If you thought that DJ Ozma’s hit Japanese song “Age Age Every Night” sounded familiar, you’re probably not mistaken. There were at least three songs by other groups that used the same melody. Here is the evolution of song covers that gave birth to DJ Ozma’s wacky song:
1. Boney M’s 1976 hit, “Daddy Cool” is the grandfather of them all:
2. Korean musician DJ DOC’s 2000 song “Run To You,” takes Boney M’s song and remixes it into a more upbeat song, which contains some English:
3. Taiwanese musican Alex To takes DJ DOC’s song and makes “Tuo Diao” in 2004. He adds an essential ingredient: stripping.
4. Finally, in 2006, DJ Ozma takes some of the English from “Run To You” and the stripping from “Tuo Daio” and creates “Age Age Every Night.” He adds ridiculous antics and outfits to his performances, as well as fake naked chicks:
Personally, I like Ozma’s the best. Not because of the quality of his singing or songwriting, but because of the fact that he doesn’t seem to take himself seriously.
