Polling Japanese Students #9: Do you have a computer? Mac or PC? Do you use the internet?
For this edition of Polling Japanese Students, I asked 46 junior high school students questions about computers. Here are the results:
Question 1:

Question 2:

After asking 26 students the above questions and getting pretty clear results, I decided to flesh out the survey by asking another 20 students how often they use the internet:

I guess we can say that Japan is clearly Microsoft territory. I’m also guessing that North American junior high schoolers use the internet much more frequently than their Japanese counterparts. Instant messaging, teenage social networking site use, and poorly written online journals don’t seem to be as popular with kids here (but I could be wrong).
Thanks to wes for suggesting these questions! As always, I am looking for new questions to ask the kids and I am open to your suggestions. Please post some in the comments!
