I was in France in the beginning of this summer and visited the Juno Beach Centre museum. They had a similar immersion room there, it had 3 projectors displaying a panoramic view at sides and front. I highly recommend it if you ever plan on going there:

Also, I must say although walking along those D-Day beaches sent shivers down my spine, those beaches are gorgeous these days.

Oh! Btw.. did they give a reason for why you could take flash photos with the Japanese flag, but nothing else?

I know here in Manhattan, They will beat the crap out of you if you even DARE have your flash on at Moma or the Met.. ok, so not beat you up. But it's not an option. You can really wear down an object with those flashes.

I've also been to many many ww2 exhbits, but this museum displayed the latest in museum technology, which was impressive.

I skipped the "Global War on Terror" exhibit, but it sounds like just the the thing for you ;)

I've been to many many many WW2 exhibits and museums. I have family who have fought in wars or have trained. But this is odd.

These days, national pride, seems to have left me somewhat. I guess it's the Iraq war, partially. Either way, I'm sorta sick of the memorials and the museums. I can't even bring myself to honestly respect the fact that someone was a "hero" in battle. With all the crap that went down in WW2, it just doesn't seem fitting for me to walk through an over-priced building and shed a tear. Maybe this is calous. Maybe so. But that's how I feel, and honestly that's one of the only redeeming things about this country...the freedom to speak my mind.

Anyways. :)
