The North Korea Embargo List (Video)
So, what exactly is included on the list of goods that can no longer be exported to North Korea? A demonstration from this morning’s Mezamashi TV:
The Japanese Cabinet on Tuesday finalized a list of 24 luxury items that will be banned from export to North Korea as part of sanctions aimed at Kim Jong-il and his elite inner circle under UN Resolution 1718. The Japan’s Finance Ministry instructed customs to enforce the measure.
On the list are all the trappings of a top apparatchik’s illicit lifestyle: beef and tuna, caviar, liquor, cigarettes, jewelry, furs, cameras, audio equipment, wristwatches, musical instruments, cars, motorcycles, yachts, perfumes, cosmetics, bedding, fountain pens, curios and artworks. “Depending on the actions taken by the international community, we may place additional items on the list,” Tokyo said in a statement. -Chosun Ilbo
