The Domino Effect
Stopping suddenly at the bottom of an esclator is not a smart idea:
Eleven elementary school children were injured after they fell like dominos down an escalator at a Tokyo museum on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
At about 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, sixth graders at Yugawara Municipal Elementary School in Kanagawa Prefecture fell over like a row of dominos on an escalator at the Edo-Tokyo Museum in Sumida-ku, local police said. In the accident, 11 of them were injured, some seriously.
The schoolchildren took the escalator to go down from the third floor to the first floor after viewing exhibits at the museum. Many of them stayed at the end of the escalator on the first floor and blocked the following children, causing 11 of them to fall down, according to investigators.(Mainichi)
