A few random Japan news links for today:

-Is there a religious right in Japan, and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a right-wing cultist? Mutant Frog investigates..

-Nintendo DS-owning museum visitors in Tokyo will now be able to do spiffy stuff. In a related story, Sony has decided to copy Nintendo and start offering colorful versions of the PSP.

-Vietnamese firms recently won a bid to sell 14,000 tons of rice to Japan: will anyone buy it?

-The wreckage of the legendary WW2 submarine USS Wahoo has been found off the coast of Japan.

-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has told CNN that Japan and China need each other despite their rivalry. Sounds reasonable to me.

-Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Sea recorded their 400,000,000th visitor yesterday. Considering the fact that many Japanese people go to the amusement parks multiple times a year, the figure is probably a bit deceptive.

-The JR Yokosuka line was delayed yesterday after a man failed to properly park his car and the car somehow found its way into the middle of the tracks. Oops!
