I’ve received the following message from Eric Kalmus of the Children’s Rights Network of Japan:

On August 18th 2006 a group of left behind parents took to the streets of Hollywood California to protest Japan’s hypocrisy in regards to international abduction.

A 9 minute movie was created using footage from the first day of the protest. Please share this link with everyone you know.

I would like to thank Mark, and CRN Japan for helping make the protest possible. Thank you also to Patrick Braden, John Smith, and the Whitney family for their participation.

Remember – It is the people that can change the world.

    Here’s the video Eric linked:

While I have written that I dislike their method of equating the kidnapping of Japanese children by North Korean agents to the Japanese legal system’s cold disregard for the desire of non-Japanese parents whose former spouses have taken away their children, I am in total support of spreading awareness of the Japanese government’s unfair policies regarding international child custody disputes. I encourage you all to read the group’s site and spread the word about this issue!
