Opening this Weekend in the USA: Flags of Our Fathers
Clint Eastwood’s new film about the Americans who raised the flag during the battle of Iwo Jima will be opening this weekend in America. Unfortunately, the film doesn’t hit Japanese theathers until October 28, so I’ll be forced to wait at least a week to see it. If you’re trapped in the delayed-movie-land of Japan like I am, you’ll just have to settle for the above trailer and in this Japanese commercial advertising the film:
The commercial says “American Eemotions, Japanese emotions: the same emotions”, reminding us that Eastwood has also created “Letters from Iwo Jima”, a film that will feature a Japanese cast and tell the story of the battle from the Japanese perspective.
