Miyako Inn Best Western in San Francisco’s Japantown to get a WACKY JAPANESE MAKEOVER ^_^

October 14th, 2006 by James

The Miyako Inn Best Western in San Francisco’s Japantown has fallen under new management and will be undergoing an Japanese pop-culture themed makeover:

Beginning this fall, the hotel will undergo an extensive renovation and rebranding, culminating with a re-launch in the spring of 2007.

In order to better align this new hotel with the community, we’re asking neighborhood residents and supporters to help us come up with a new name for the Miyako Inn. The new Hotel (we’re no longer going to call it an Inn) will take inspiration from contemporary Japanese culture, featuring the bright colors, modern embellishments and art styling found in Japanese anime, manga and street fashion. Our new name should suggest this new concept.

Please submit your ideas by October 23rd to nametheinn@jdvhospitality.com or to the hotel’s lobby at 1800 Sutter Street. Thanks in advance for your help in launching this exciting new hotel!

Check out the official page here! (Let’s hope the person who made the shitty Japanese pop culture image they are using on the site won’t be responsible for the actual makeover).
