Learn Japanese with Yan-san (and a little help from YouTube)
Here’s some great news for those of you studying the Japanese language: YouTube user JECJimmy has uploaded the complete 52 episode series of “Let’s Learn Japanese Basic: Yan and the Japanese People” onto the video site for public consumption.
Here’s a summary of the series: Yan-san is a foreigner who comes to Japan to work as an architect. Along the way Yan-san makes friends with many Japanese people and all kinds of wacky events occur. In between episodes of Yan-san’s story a Japanese teacher will teach you the main conversation and grammar points of from the episode. They’ve also thrown in some corny skits and campy music to spice things up!
