Patrick Harlan teaches English slang

On Friday’s episode of “Eigo de Shabera Naito“, and hip program designed to help Japanese improve their English, host Patrick Harlan(“Pakkun”) was teaching viewers some cool new English slang. Here are the two slang terms that he said were becoming popular in America “recently”:
1) The use of the word “not”" after a sentence. For example: “Patrick Harlan is really in touch with what’s going on in America today. NOT!!”
2) The English phrase “check it out!” has now been replaced with new slang phrase “check it!”.
For more hip lessons in recent English, watch “Eigo de Shabera Naito” every Friday at 11:00PM on N-H-K. I can’t confirm this, but I’ve been told that Patrick is going to talk about this music video, which he says is the latest cool thing in America. Check it:
Despite the fact that he’s lived in Japan since 1993, Patrick Harlan still manages to keep up with the latest fads in America. Amazing, isn’t it?
