TOKYO — American actress Sharon Stone visited the sumo on Thursday and had a meeting with Mongolian Yokozuna Asashoryu after the day’s bouts had ended. The 48-year-old star of the “Basic Instinct” movies and the upcoming “Bobby” received a handprint of Asashoryu in his dressing room at the Ryogoku Kokugikan sumo arena.

Stone said it was the first time she had seen sumo live and said she was impressed by the sport’s long tradition and the fact that it emphasized both strength and grace.

The news pundits said that Asashoryu was really surprised and happy(if you couldn’t tell from the huge smiles in the picture).
