Chunichi’s manager robbed

September 22nd, 2006 by James

If you’re going to leave a bag with $4000 in cash in a room, you might want to lock the door. The Manager of the Chunichi Dragons didn’t:

YOKOHAMA — Kanagawa Police launched investigations on Thursday into the suspected theft of a small bag belonging to Hiromitsu Ochiai, the 52-year-old manager of the Chunichi Dragons baseball team, after it was reported missing the previous day.

Police believe that the bag, containing 470,000 yen in cash, four credit cards, and a driver’s license, was stolen during Wednesday night’s game at Yokohama Stadium against the Yokohama BayStars.

The visiting team manager’s room from where the bag was taken was not locked during the game.

Do you know anybody who regularly carries around 470,000 yen?
