While the surveys are hardly representative of Japanese people as a whole, they certainly provide insight into the thinking of a particular group of Japanese women who date foreign men. The surveys raise many important questions:

Is butt shape the primary determining factor in gaijin attraction to Japanese? Did 7 girls who responded to the first survey actually get AIDS from their partner? Do Japanese who date foreigners experience a lot of jealous from Japanese men and women?

I take it Q6 is for women only? But, rather an obsession with bums, I feel! From what I hear from other gaijin, number 6, decent teeth, should be number one. Number 5 is an interesting one – there’s an in-train ad for ECC at the moment that shows a plain, if not unattractive, woman (but with white teeth!) laughing happily and relaxed with her gaijin teacher.

In Q5, “reliable/indepedent”: why are the two lumped together? More questions than answers here!

Decent teeth are definately a rare one here. The orthodontics industry really needs to improve, as does the dentistry industry.

I translated “しっかりしてる（独立してる）” as “reliable/indepedent”, perhaps there’s a better translation? I must admit that my translation ability is not so great.

The “Nice ass” response is a little skewed. Remember, these are mostly women dating military men. Military bases, especially in Japan, have a large percentage of African-American men. African-American men, as Sir Mix-a-lot elluded, like big butts.

This is a very useless poll but interested nonetheless

The stupidest thing about this survey, both from the foreign AND the Japanese perspective, is that 83% of all mixed couples in Japan are Japanese men dating foreign women, and 70% of those foreign women are Asian (some are South American or Russian or “other”) — BUT everyone on both sides continues to imagine the mixed couple as a Japanese woman with a blonde guy or a black soldier. In fact, that kind of couple is RARE — you might see one a day, or a few more if you go to Shibuya or near an army base.

The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of foreigners in relationships in Japan are ASIAN WOMEN. And you’ll NEVER see a poll for them on a website like this. Just won’t happen. No one cares. Not the foreigners, and not the Japanese.
