I don’t mind registering but it seems that there’s always an issue with forgetting passwords and usernames when you register on multiple sites. I know one can always use the same password but usernames are often already taken and you end up with several.

Nonetheless, there’s not much one can do except try not to purge the cache too often or delete cookies.

Shari: If you forget your password, you can just have the site email you a new auto-generated one. I am forced to do this all the time when my cookies expire and I forget the passwords for many blogs I comment on.

We’ve had trouble with spam too. We’re trying Akismet, and it has worked well so far.

James, I use Bad Behaviour http://www.homelandstupidity.us/software/bad-behavior/ as a first line of defense against the SpamBots, and it does a great job. It reports:

Bad Behavior has blocked 1101 access attempts in the last 7 days.

SpamKarma catches about 10 to 15 per day that get past that step. I wish there was a feature in SK to skip everything under -100 or whatever, so I could skip all the useless -500 pharma link spam.
