I am American. I hate royal families just because. This whole escapade is ridiculous, and now DorkHair has succeeded in one-upping his brother. Kiko-sama is such a pretentious looking bitch. Maybe one day, Japanese people will realize that these people live the high life on their tax money and then go overthrow these goofy looking royals and make them do real work, like, i don't know, become TV talents or something.

What happens if it's an unhealthy boy?

Anyway, my money's on the pregnancy being assisted by IVF or whatever, and sex selection techniques just to make sure it's a boy.

Are people seriously not thinking that throughout her pregnancy that Princess Kiko has not had an ultrasound where the babies gender parts were not noticed?

If Placenta Previa was diagnosed then there is NO chance whatsoever that during all the tests and monitoring SOMEONE did not check the babies lower end, for health reasons alone?.

And with so much at stake is someone saying that a doctor would dare keep the information to him/herself just for the sake of a big surprise? I don't think so. The gender of the baby should be known by at least one of the parents, it would probably be the kindest thing to do for reasons of reducing stress alone!!! so if this is the case, the "mystery" of the babies gender is only there now to stir up the media and the Japanese public which is of course great publicity for the Imperial family.

There will be massive celebrations if a boy and a smaller cheer for a healthy girl, followed by a big grunt from nationalists who will get crabby over the possible continuation towards changing law to allow female successors.
