Koki Kameda to fight a rigged rematch?

The massive backlash from fans following Koki Kameda’s last fight has really damaged his reputation. In a desperate attempt to legitimize his claim the the championship belt he ‘won’, Koki Kameda has agreed to a rematch:
TOKYO — Venezuelan Juan Landaeta will get the chance to avenge his controversial split-decision defeat to Japan’s newly-crowned WBA light flyweight champion Koki Kameda after Kameda’s Kyoei Gym announced a rematch on Tuesday. Kyoei Gym chief Keiichiro Kanehira said the 19-year-old Kameda’s first defense of his crown would take place in mid or late October at a yet-to-be-decided venue.
Judges surprisingly awarded the trash-talking Kameda the vacant title even though he was completely outfought by Landaeta and the result sparked outcry in the media and among fans, who said Kameda did not deserve to win the fight. The day after the fight, the Japan Boxing Commission was inundated with phone calls protesting the judges’ ruling while TBS, which broadcasted the bout live, received more than 50,000 phone calls and emails from viewers — many lodging protests about the result.

Maybe this time Landaeta will actually fall down when Kameda punches him? Even if Kameda wins the rematch, doubtful fans will still claim it’s a rigged match. This is a no-win situation for ol’ Kameda.
