What ever happened to the boy named ‘Devil’?
Anybody who has spent any time in Japan has heard about the boy whose parents (classy folk, indeed) named him Akuma, which is Japanese for ‘Devil.’ The rumor that I heard was that his name was ultimately changed to ‘Angel’ and everybody walked away happy. Well, the Shunkan Shincho via Wai Wai has tracked down the boy and apparently he’s been spending the better part of his life in a Boy’s Home, separated from his parents.
Wai Wai mentions that his father has been in and out of prison, and makes very vague reports of the mother being “out of the picture”… whatever that means. With a name like ‘Devil’ I guess misery is bound to follow you wherever you go.
