Do you know what’s going on today at the Big Site in Tokyo? If you do, you might just be a comic book obsessed otaku! The biggest comic book convention of the year, Comic Market, is being held there as we speak. It surpasses any such conventions in the world, and it expected to draw over 410,000 visitors in its 3 days. This Japanese news report from the first day of the convention (Friday), gives you an idea of the crowds:

Thousands of Otaku arriving on the first train of the day, with thousands more arriving by bus. Police have to tell them to stop running, for the danger of excited fans starting a fatal stampede is very real. After hours of waiting in line, visitors can purchase a few comics, take some pictures up the skirt of a cosplayer, and leave to party, otaku style, in Akihabara. Today is the last day of the convention, so hurry up and get in line before it’s too late!
