Japanese soccer fans don’t like Kawabuchi?

It seems that Saburo Kawabuchi, who was recently re-appointed for another term as head of the Japan Football Association, is not liked by some Japanese soccer fans. I’m not exactly sure what the issue is, as I haven’t been following soccer news lately, but the following videos, which were filmed at yesterday’s Japan vs. Trinidad match, seem to indicate a lot of fans do not want him to be president of the JFA.

These fans held an anti-Kawabuchi march yesterday. They are chanting “Yamabuchi resign/stop”:

Their protests carried on in the stadium, where they unveiled large anti-Kawabuchi banners:

I’d guess their anger has something to do with Japan’s horribly performance in the World Cup. But YouTube commenters are reporting that there is more to the issue:

This is a demonstration from which Kawabuchi’s resignation is requested. (NOT ask-for-job demonstration.)
Kawabuchi is a chairman of Japan Football Association.
He didn’t resign though Japan was defeated in the World Cup. -bombombstranger

    And:

These guys are not doing this just because they lost in the World Cup.

It’s because he has been infamous for his insulting and demoralizing actions, and for being incompetent as the leader of a national football association.

The only thing he was good at was sucking-ass of advertising agents, and deserting most other obvious football related responsibilities.

And one more thing, he has been known for propagating almost all of the Japanese football related mass media, by disallowing any media which attempt to criticize the Zico/Kawabuchi regime. He did this by seculding such media from the football scene by revoking their press permits. Sort of like WWII era Japan. -deepline

It’s interesting to see young Japanese people actually holding protests. What’s next? Massive political protests to overthrow the LDP?
