What An A-Hole

hate to see a guy be so passive. I wouldnt go as far as to physically move the guy but he shouldve atleast said something instead of just skirting around.

While I wholeheartily approve the project of villifying His Excellency (note the sarcasm) Kim Dae-jung, I don’t think he was guilty of the crime charged here. I hope you don’t mind if I reproduce what I wrote at Japundit in part:

“As I wrote on the Marmot’s Hole, I am surprised at your rather intemperate and perhaps oracular pronouncements on Kim Dae-jung’s supposed intentions here. While I am not exactly a fan of Kim Dae Jung (heck, who am I kidding? I think he is the greatest villain in modern South Korean history), I don’t think his blocking the Japanese Emperor was deliberate. The man, after all, was nearing 80 when this incident happened, and he has all kinds of physical ailments, not to mention that his sensory perception is severely dimmed. GI Korea is also correct that Kim Dae-jung is not highly regarded in Korea. Perhaps most important, the portrait of DJ as a democratic icon, South Korea’s “Nelson Mandela,” etc. was a creation of American media. The natives always saw him for what he was: a self-serving, venal politician who took up the rhetorical mantle of democracy because that was the easiest way for him to get foreign attention and protection from the military regimes as an opposition politician.”

Deliberate or not, who gives a rat’s ass? Something about being American makes me hate royal families. Especially when I toured some doll factory in Fukuoka and they proudly showed the same doll set that the Prince bought for Aiko-sama that cost a cool 100 million yen. (=tax money)

By the way, can you call my kids, …-sama, too? Bah! Kick the bums out and make the palace a public museum or something.
