The rainy season began in the Kanto-Koshin and southern Tohoku regions in eastern Honshu on Friday, the Meteorological Agency said.
The beginning of the rainy season came one day later than normal in the Kanto-Koshin region and one day earlier in the southern Tohoku region, agency officials said.
