This just in?

Here is an interesting Japanese news report on youtube.  A reporter travels to Akihabara, the dork capital of Japan, and visits some comics/games stores.

And comic books too! She keeps repeating how the girls look young and are wearing high school or even junior high school uniforms.

Could these games and comics be related to the recent string of child abductions/murders that has hit Japan?  Well, one of the abuductors did have a cell phone answering message recorded from such a game.  It says, “Horray!! Big brother!!!!”

And another guy who killed a little girl was also a fan of such games/comics.  hmmm…

What is really shocking about this news report is that the reporter actually seems to be surprised that such comics/games exist.  Are Japanese people really that ignorant of what is going on around them?  Doesn’t she realize that she didn’t have to travel to Akihabara?  She could pick up some child sex comics at a 7-11 anywhere in Japan!

Do these comics/games create obsession with little girls, or do they exist to cater to an already existing mania?
