Chinese perverts invade Japanese beaches!
I found this interesting video posted by Rip on Asia Watch this morning. It is a work of investigative journalism akin to the video found in my “Rude Koreans!” post. This report exposes the activities of certain Chinese men at a beach in Japan, with lots of dramatic narration and music. Since there is no translation on Asia Watch, I will summarize the contents of the video here.
A group of 15 men are at the beach. Many of them appear to be using cameras. What are they taking pictures of? Why, women in bathing suits, of course!
A Japanese lifeguard hears a complaint from some girls and decides to confront a cameraman. His questions are met by a STRANGE FOREIGN LANGUAGE! It turns out to be Chinese, which appears to be make of of random wacky symbols!
The lifeguard calls the cops while the Chinese guys freak out. They are arguing with eachother(in Chinese, now correctly subtitled) about whether or not they took any pictures of girls. One guy claims he did not, another says he had no tape in his camera.
A passerby sees what is going on and decides to help out. She asks them a question, IN CHINESE.
The cops show up. A couple of the Chinese guys are escorted to the nearby police box where they are questioned.
As expected, they were taking pictures of girls!
The reporter/camera are not allowed in the police box, but the lifeguard fills them in on what happened. The Chinese guys could speak/understand Japanese after all. They had been faking ignorance of Japanese when he confronted them on the beach. They were employees of a Japanese company and lived in Japan. [As Japanese law requires all foreign residents to carry an Alien Registration Card that usually has the name of your employer and your address on it, it would have been impossible for them to pretend to be tourists.]
The red text reads: “The Chinese could speak Japanese…”
The reporter chases down one Chinese man as he leaves the police box. The Chinese man, now speaking Japanese, says he destroyed the tape and denies ever taking video of girls. He is not charged with any crime, as no women on his tape came forward and complained making it tricky to prove it is a crime.
