Koreans copy Japanese products? No way!

I dont think they have exactly the same flavor. The flavor comes close but the original Japanese product is always superior. It is also about three or four times the cost of the Korean product.

Pocky has american copy cats too btw. It’s pretty dimwitted to look at these things from a nationalistic perspective trying to disdain other countries. These products were introduced in by corporations trying to gain market shares when korea was a new, surging market after the Korean War. In any case, most of the Japanese products that are shown were originally created by Lotte which was started by a South Korean businessman in Japan. Given Korea’s late industrialization after the Korean War, it’s not surprising that a lot of these products would be copied and introduced in the Korean market. Corporations did and do stuff like that all the time.

IMHO; Japanese companies also heavily copies European & American brands, product, services and even entertainment.

Korea is basically product of westernazation from japanese occupation to US occupation. I don’t think Korea is like anything like China now.

You guys should look at some Chinese product, they totally copy everything, at least Korea was learning from Japan.

Btw, most confectionery companies in Korea were Japanese companies such as Haitai, Lotte, Samyang, NongShim. etc.. they were once operational during Japanese occupation of Korea under license from parent companies, after Japan left Korea. They basically producing almost same product as before.

I have absolutely nothing against Japan(My gf is Japanese btw) and their people but if they keep accusing another country out of contempt while they’re surreptitiously doing the same, it puts mud on their image. Check the site out and see for yourself if Japanese are original or not. Japanese is good at “rebuilding” on another people’s idea, but originality? Not so sure about that.

Even American media copy Japanese TV shows sometimes.
Japanese might copy American Films or something like that.
But the difference is they don’t copy the whole idea.
they add something original or make their own ways.

Korean Company copy the whole thing. Looks, taste, idea, everything. That is really non-sense, and they kill their imagination and identity by themselves.
And that makes them hard to create new product by themselves.

Japan copied the americans , but guess what ?
america stole wayy to many movie ideas from japan such as juon , dark water ,the ring …movies like that . But the thing is when japs are influenced by americas , they take it and make it 10x better . Koreans however take something from japan and make it the exact same thing, the only difference is that it in a korean name .
