Super Creepy

Super Dollfie!

It seems the news media really liked Super Dollfie yesterday. A couple programs devoted significant time to coverage of ‘Dolls Party 15′, some sort of convention for fans of Super Dollfie. As the Japanese in the corner of the picture above suggests, over 15,000 people attended the convention at the Tokyo Big Site.

Kill it with fire.

Just what is Super Dollfie? Why, a super special doll, beautiful and cute!(At least its fans think so). Fans of Super Dollfie pay incredible sums of money for special edition dolls and special clothing for their plastic friends.

This Dollfie is worth 475 dollars! Super!

This Super Dollfie thing isn’t new. It has been going on for several years now, and has even branched out into the American market. Last night’s news program even interviewed a foreign girl who had come to the Dolls Party. Since I am not in America, I really have no idea of the scale of Super Dollfieism, but given the increasing amount of female otaku and creepy male otaku, Super Dollfies must be selling pretty well.

Ummm…these dolls are almost NEVER made of plastic. They’re resin. And Americans are just now starting to get into them, it’s only been about 7 years though. I am American and I’m nuts over them too.
