Things you should/shouldn’t expect in Japan
I made this list today during downtime between classes(yes I am an English teacher, how pathetic, right?).
Things you should expect in Japan:
-Public transportation worth using
-Trains to be on time(on days there aren’t suicides on the track)
-Convenience stores everywhere
-Alcohol everywhere
-Pornography everywhere
-Heated toilet seats
-Bike friendly sidewalks
-Crowded trains (in/near cities)
-People to be polite enough to help you when you ask/look confused
-Really cheap family restaurants that don’t suck
-Faster service at McDonalds/Your McDonald’s meals to be freshly made
-Power lines everywhere
-Some people to stare at you
-Some people to avoid you
-Over packaging for almost everything you buy
-Complex rules for throwing away garbage
-To see many attractive girls
Things you shouldn’t expect in Japan:
-Cars to vary in color (most are white/grey)
-Paid sick leave/being able to call in sick
-Large drink sizes with fast food meals
-Affordable movie ticket prices
-Warm water in public restrooms
-Attractive apartments/houses
-Insulated apartments/houses/buildings
-Central heating in buildings
-Paper towels to dry your hands in bathrooms
-English explanations for everything
-Gender equality
-Racial equality
-Logical explanations for most things
